Abstract:

Periodontitis is an infectious disease with plaque as the initiating factor. Hyperuricemia is a chronic low-grade inflammatory disease, mainly due to purine metabolic disorders. Studies have shown a correlation between periodontitis and hyperuricemia in clinical manifestations and pathogenesis. Both of them could increase the expression of inflammatory factors in peripheral blood and make the whole body in micro-inflammation. At present, the clinical treatment strategy for patients with hyperuricemia and periodontitis needs to be improved. Based on the TLR4/NF-κB pathway, this article explores the mechanism of the interaction between periodontitis and hyperuricemia in order to provide new ideas for the treatment of patients with periodontitis and hyperuricemia.
