Abstract:
Objective
To investigate the difference of homeobox genes expression between adenoid cystic carcinoma of salivary gland and normal gland tissue, the effect of homeobox genes on oncogenesis and differentiation of adenoid cystic carcinoma of salivary gland.
Methods
Six paired specimens including adenoid cystic carcinoma and its surrounding normal gland tissue were obtained from 6 patients. Customized Oligo microarray containing numerous probes of 232 human homeobox genes was used to analyse the results. All data were scanned by Agilent Scanner and differentiately expressed genes were sorted out.
Results
Homeobox gene DLX5 was found up-regulated in 5 samples.EVX1 and PITX1 was found down-regulated in 5 samples.
Conclusion
As the key gene for cellular proliferation and differentiation, homeobox genes is closely relevant to the oncogenesis of adenoid cystic carcinoma of salivary gland.
