Abstract:
Objective To investigate the clinical application and effect of hydroxyapatite ceramic combined with biological membrane in the treatment of jaw cysts.
Methods A retrospective analysis on 93 patients who suffered cyst of jaw from Jan 2012 to Jan 2015 was investigated. After jaw cysts were removed, the bone defects were filled by hydroxyapatite bioceramic and covered by biological membrane. The clinical data and X-ray film was recorded to evaluate the bone regeneration.
Results Ninty patients reached primary wound healing, 2 patients felt swelling pain, the wound of 1 patient dehisced. Bone defects area showed proliferation and good recovery after 1, 3, 6, and 12 month of X-ray examination.
Conclusion The application of hydroxyapatite bioceramic and biological membrane in the treatment of cyst of jaw bone was reliable.
