Abstract:

Stem cells from human exfoliated deciduous teeth (SHED) mainly come from exfoliated deciduous teeth. They possess the properties of high proliferation, self-renewal and multiple differentiations potential. Furthermore, deciduous teeth, a biological disposal of waste, conform to ethical concerns. Therefore, SHED gradually become a focus in stem cell research. This review highlights recent advance of the biology characteristic, culture methods, identification methods, multiple differentiation potential of SHED and the application of SHED in the treatment.
