Abstract:

Objective

Methods

Medical records and X-ray data of patients with condylar fractures were collected and re-analyzed. The patients were informed to revisit. The radiographic data and clinical results of the examination were studied.

Results

Data of 224 patients were collected and 52 patients were followed up successfully. Both conservative and surgical treatment showed good results.

Conclusions

Traffic accidents are the most common reason for condylar fractures. The site of condylar fracture seems age-related, higher site condylar fracture occurs more often in children than in teenagers and adults. Lower site condylar fracture occurs more often in unilateral fractures than in bilateral fractures. Severe displacement of the fractured segment was seen more often in adults than in children and teenagers.
