Abstract:

The rapid development of genomics and gene therapy could offer solutions to many diseases that remain incurable. However, the biggest obstacle of its clinical application is how to design a safe and effective gene transfer vector. To date, graphene and its derivatives have attracted much attention due to its extrardinary physicochemical, optical and photothermal properties, so it is believed that they have a great potential in the field of gene transfer vector. The purpose of this article is to review the properties and main types of functionalized graphene and its derivatives as gene transfer vectors.
