Abstract:
Objective
To evaluate the effect of Lidocaine local infitration anesthesia and nerve block anesthesia in the upper molars extraction.
Methods
Four hundred and thirty-two patients were divided into two groups. In the experimental group:local infitration anesthesia were used. In the control group:nerve block anesthesia were used. All patients completed a Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) after the injection. Doctor evaluated the effects of different anesthesia after the extraction.
Results
The level of pain during injection in the experiment group was lower than the control group. No substantially statistical difference showed in the effect of both anesthesia methods.
Conclusions
Local infitration anesthesia can reduce patient's pain. Anesthesia effect is favorable in upper molar's extraction, with less complications.
