Abstract:
Objective
To evaluate the clinical effect of XIVE implant placement in partial edentulous area and self-drillinng mini-screw implant anchorage for corresponding elongated teeth intrusion.
Methods
7 patients with missing mandibular first molar and elongated (>2.5 mm)maxillary first molar were recruited for the study. XIVE implant was placed in the mandibular first molar area according to normal treatment protocols. At the same time, the extruded maxillary first molar was intruded with the aid of self-drillinng mini-screw implant anchorage.
Rusults
1 patient's mini-screw implant was loosen and then lost because of peri-implant inflammation. The other 6 patient's maxillary first molars were average intruded 3 mm in 5 month. The overall treatment effect were satisfactory.
Concluslon
For patients with missing mandibular first molar and elongated maxillary first molar, the usage of XIVE implants and mini-screw implant as anchorage show good prosthetic effect.
