Suggestions for clinical diagnosis and treatment for acute toothache during the COVID-19 prevention and control period

Abstract:

At present, tasks of preventing and controlling outbreaks of Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) caused by 2019 novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) infection is extremely difficult. Due to the specialty of dental hospital, clinical treatment of oral diseases during this special period has attracted widespread attention of the government health care unit as well as the general public. How can we deal with acute toothache, the most common dental emergency, during this period? Based on the relevant standards issued by the National Health commission of PRC and guidance for dental clinics and emergency departments issued by the provincial and municipal health commissions, we discussed the criterion for managing acute toothache, aiming at providing references and guidelines for relevant clinical procedures during this period.
