An evaluation of the orthodontic-aided implant treatment in patients with teeth missing for a long period

Abstract:

Objective

To evaluate the orthodontic-aided implant treatment outcomes in patients with teeth missing for a long period.

Methods

Fifteen cases of long-term teeth missing (21 implants)were collected, Orthodontic therapy was carried out to create sufficient space for implantation, and then implants were placed.

Results

Fifteen patients successfully obtained sufficient space. The implant osseointegration was good in all patients.

Conclusion

Orthodontic-aided implantation was an effective treatment modality for patients with teeth missing for a long period.
