Abstract:
Objective To investigate the clinical application and therapeutic effect of laser assisted coagulation in the promotion of tissue regeneration in dental implant restoration.
Methods From December 2011 to October 2014, 24 cases of patients with defections in anterior aesthetic region underwent implantation. Six months later, they receiving two-stage operation, they were randomly divided into laser group (12 cases) and non-irradiated group (12 cases) . Laser group used laser assisted coagulation, while non-irradiated group used conventional suture hemostasis. Impression and temporary crown were made postoperatively. The end of the denture fabrication was made after 3-6 months. Clinical observation was lasted for 6-34 months. Pink esthetic score (PES) was used to evaluate the effect of aesthetics, and a survey of patient satisfaction was putted.
Results The implant denture restoration was completed successfully in 24 patients. The final denture time was (10.25 ± 1.14) d in laser group and (26.08 ± 3.55) d in non-irradiation group. The difference between two groups was statistically significant (t=-13.871, P= 0.000) . The highest and the lowest PES score was 14 points and 7 points, respectively; and the median score was 12.5 in laser group. The highest and the lowest PES score was 11 points and 7 points, respectively; and the median score was 7.0 in non-irradiated group. The difference between two groups was statistically significant (Z= 3.341, P= 0.001) .
Conclusion Laser assisted coagulation promote soft tissue reparation and shorten the temporary and permanent repair time, aesthetics in the process of implant can obtain good clinical effect.
