Abstract:
Objectives
To evaluate the clinical effect of uprighting the tilting molars with the application of segmental arch and micro-implant anchorage.
Methods
Twenty-four cases （28 tilting molars） with mesially inclined molars were treated corrected with segmental arch and micro-implant anchorage to upright the tilting molars. The clinical effect was evaluated by modal examination.
Results
Tilting molars presented a significant effect of uprighting after treatment. The first molar showed a horizontal shift of （1.92 ± 0.98） mm and mesially inclined angle was decreased by（20.67 ± 5.14）°. The second molar showed a horizontal shift of （2.60 ± 1.09） mm and mesially inclined angle was decreased by （25.36 ± 6.57）°.
Conclusions
The application of segmental arch and micro-implant anchorage is a simple， comfortable， effective method for uprighting the tilting molars.
