Abstract:
Objective
To assess the reliability of using the Beta angle in judging sagittal jaw relationship of anterior crossbite in adolescence and permenant dentition.
Methods
By using X-ray cephalometric of anterior crossbite cases， the difference of Beta angle， ANB， Wits and APDI between adolescence and permenant dentition were compared， the coefficients of variation and correlationship were studied.
Results
There are significant difference of Beta angle between adolescence and permenant dentition， and significant correlation of the Beta angle with ANB，Wits and APDI， The coefficients of variation of the Beta angle were much smaller than ANB and Wits， but approaching APDI.
Conclusion
The Beta angle can exactly assess sagittal jaw relationship of anterior crossbite in adolescence and permenant dentition.
