Abstract:
Objective
To evaluate the efficacy of minimally invasive techniques in the treatment of complex midfacial fractures.
Methods
Twenty-three complex midfacial fractures cases received spiral 3D-CT scanning, the combined approach adopts incision around the original opening wound, multi facial minimal incisions, intraoral vestibular groove incision with minimally invasive techniques through endoscope or transbuccal trochar. All fracture fixed by rigid internal fixation, observe the patient's anatomical reduction, facial symmetry, mouth opening and a variety of complications to evaluate the outcome of the surgery.
Results
With average follow-up range from 1-6 months, all patients's facial profile, mouth opening and occlusion were normal. No severe complications occurred.
Conclusion
The application of minimally invasive techniques is an ideal and effective way for complex midfacial fracture treatment.
