Abstract:
Objective
To study the influence of dentin collar height on the retention and resistance of LUXACORE resin post in anterior teeth defect cases.
Methods
100 anterior teeth were divided into three groups. All teeth with dentin collar height less than 1 mm were in group A.Those with dentin collar height between 1 and 2 mm were in group B.Those with more than 2 mm were in group C.Each tooth was restored with LUXACORE resin post and porcelain fused to metal crown. The fracture rate and falling rate were evaluated 6 ~24 months after clinical service.
Results
There was statistical difference between group A and group B in fracture rate (P <0.05); And we can also found the magnificent difference between group A and group C (P <0.05).But there was no difference between group B and group C (P >0.05).The falling rate in group A was larger than that in group B and C.And the difference could not be found between group A, B, C (P >0.05).On the whole, the falling rate and fracture rate could reach to 5%and 8% respectively, and the success rate achieved to 87%.
Conclusion
Enough dentin collar was very necessary to improve the retentive force and resisitance of LUXACORE resin post in anterior teeth defect cases.
