Electromyography activity evaluation of oromaxillofacial muscles in adolescents with bimaxillary protrusion

目的

分析双颌前突患者口颌面部肌电特征,为正畸矫治提供参考。

方法

选取双颌前突与个别正常患者各18例,使用Bio EMGⅢ型表面肌电测量仪测量其在不同功能状态下的口颌面部肌电,采用SPSS 20.0软件对双颌前突组和个别正常组的各肌平均肌电幅值进行统计分析:正态分布数据进行t检验,偏态分布数据进行Wilcoxon秩和检验。

结果

紧咬位时,双颌前突组颞肌、咬肌平均肌电幅值分别为(55.45 ± 8.73)、(49.53 ± 6.62)μV,个别正常组颞肌、咬肌平均肌电幅值分别为(80.46 ± 61.46)、(72.15 ± 6.99)μV,差异有统计学意义(t= 2.393,P= 0.025;t= 2.3253,P= 0.029)。闭唇位时,双颌前突组上口轮匝肌、颏肌平均肌电幅值分别为(21.27 ± 3.96)、(23.23 ± 3.97)μV,个别正常组上口轮匝肌、颏肌平均肌电幅值分别为(7.29 ± 0.98)、(12.34 ± 2.12)μV,差异有统计学意义(t=-3.726,P= 0.004;t=-2.419,P= 0.019)。

结论

不同功能状态下,双颌前突与个别正常患者口颌面部肌电特征存在差异。双颌前突患者紧咬时颞肌、咬肌肌电活动减弱,闭唇位时上口轮匝肌、颏肌肌电活动增强。

Objective

To study the oromaxillofacial electromyography characteristic of patients with bimaxillary protrusion and to provide reference to orthodontic treatment.

Methods

Eighteen patients with bimaxillary protrusion and eighteen persons with individual normal occlusion were included. Average electromyography data of oromaxillofacial muscles at different situations was recorded by using the Bio EMG Ⅲ surface electromyogram measuring equipment. The average electromyography data was analyzed by SPSS 20.0 software. The data of normal distribution was performed with Independent sample t Test and the one of asymmetrical distribution was performed with Wilcoxon Test.

Results

During voluntary clenching position, the electromyography activities of anterior temporalis and masseter muscles of bimaxillary protrusion group were (55.45 ± 8.73) and (49.53 ± 6.62) μV respectively, and those of individual normal occlusion group were (80.46 ± 61.46) and (72.15 ± 6.99) μV respectively (t= 2.393, P= 0.025; t= 2.3253, P= 0.029) . During lips in contact, the electromyography activities of upper orbicularis and mentalis muscles of bimaxillary protrusion group were (21.27 ± 3.96) and (23.23 ± 3.97) μV respectively, and those of individual normal occlusion group were (7.29 ± 0.98) and (12.34 ± 2.12) μV respectively (t=-3.726, P= 0.004; t=-2.419, P= 0.019) .

Conclusions

There were difference of the oromaxillofacial electromyography under various functional situations between bimaxillary protrusion group and individual normal occlusion group. The electromyography activities of temporal anterior, masseter muscles weakened during voluntary clenching position. While the electromyography activities of upper orbicularis and mentalis muscles enhanced during lips in contact.
